Thematic maps is simply made to reflect a particular theme about a geographic area. Thematic maps can provide graphical summary of the selected results by state or county.

The map above is a choropleth map,a type of thematic map, which uses color to represent stastical data.The map is using different colors to represent the population density of each state.
