cartogram

A cartogram map is a map in which some thematic mapping variable is substituted for land area. the geometry or space of the map is distorted in order to convey the information of this alternative variable. There are two types , area and distance cartogram.The map above is an type of area cartogram map , it is an election map. The red area represents the area that is predominately republic and the blue represents the democratic vote. The blue area appears overwhemingly in the majority. Which represents a greater democratic population.
