box plot

A box plot is a graphical display of a set of arithmetic data in terms of its five number summaries : sample minimium, lower quartile, median , upper quartile, and sample maximum. The above box plot has lines at its lower, median, and upper quartile values and "whiskers"that extend from each end of it to a selected value. This image is a Box plot of car mileage for a series of nations and shows that the U.S.s has the greatest mileage distribution.
